I’m conflicted over whether to conserve this old hand driven tool grinder or convert it to the drive mechanism for a kinetic sculpture. The 11” diameter main wheel is just the right size for an industrial-looking coffee table art piece. But it’s definitely not child safe. #industrialart #kineticart #kineticsculpture #mechanism #mechanisms #mechanicaldesign #mechanicalart #indianaartist #industialdesign #antique #antiques #antiquemachinery #antiquetools #vintage #vintagetools #reclaimed #repurposed #upcycled #rustic #rusticdesign
Beautiful as is .... BUT .... So many possibilities!
Hmmmmm. That is a tough one. Either thing is great tho.🤟🏻
Either way, that thing is COOL!👍
@tomharoldart —Not only does the grinding wheel rotate but it also travels up and down slowly.
I'd opt for converting it to a kinetic coffee table with an option to grind breakfast knives etc. in case the scones are too dry to cut up ... Anyway, we should make our children art safe, not our art child safe 😁
@mstock2018 — Yes, I like your idea. I could sharpen my knives while watching TV 😄. And yes art safe, but how would a kid know this is “art”? Even I can’t resist playing with it and fingers in the wrong place while it’s moving wouldn’t be good.
Looks like it’s out of Dad Welton shop, great job!
@rjfarms1 I really miss dad Welton’s shop. I spent so many hours watching him work and looking at all the things.
