Mughal E Azam opens today in Singapore!
Come and experience the grandeur at Esplanade auditorium! ...
I don’t often feel my age. Until I talk to younger practitioners about theatre in Singapore. So little of our theatre history is well recorded or properly documented. So much of it is anecdotal. Who’s telling the stories behind the stories? The stories that brought us to where we are today. Maybe there’ll always be this gap in understanding and knowledge. I bet it was the same when I first started out at 18. .
You can work hard on the performance part, do badly and still be forgiven as a musician but you don’t really get to rehearse your appreciation for people who show their love as fans. You cant always get a second chance!! I’ve lost some, I’ve gained plenty, I cherish them all.
Some have followed me since day 1, some can’t come anymore yet still send me their well wishes privately, some new faces who knows practically everything and some old familiar faces show their excitement like it’s their first time. Some call themselves Imtiaz (my old/original fan club name), some don’t want me to know who they are, and some have become friends. I can’t thank you all enough. Tag yourself/your friends if you see them in this video!!!
In today’s day and age where we are being measured with likes and number of views, it’s this face-to-face after-showtime moments that make everything so special and valuable. Thank you to those who came and thank you to those who wished they could! You’re in my thoughts always! #sepuluhtahunpertama#pestaraya2018
