Balancing motherhood is nearly impossible. We usually always feel lopsided... Whether it’s not enough time away or too much time away. Reminder: You are not Mary Poppins, BUT you are an amazing mother who is doing your very best. You are doing a phenomenal job raising tiny human(s). I strongly believe that everyone is trying their hardest, no matter what. Now go find a fellow mama & give her a big high-five for kicking major ass. .
Note: only one of my littles made it in this photo. The other one was crying because he wanted to ride in a semi truck. 😆❤️#toddlermom

Went a teensy bit nuts and brought home a few new-to-us pieces this week☺️ Norah ran into our bedroom and immediately started filling this little drawer with drawings and love notes, so technically... it’s for the kid’s☺️ The pillows, the wardrobes, all the little nooks for them to store their treasures in... It’s all for them😉😂😘 Happy Monday friends!!! ...
I feel like no one really wants to admit this, but life post graduation is really freaking hard. (Just me? Okay, I hope not 😂) You move away from your friends. You’re funneled into the real world with all kinds of people. You try to figure out a new job. Maybe a new place to live. Bills?! What the heck. 🤦🏻♀️ It feels like you’re expected to know everything - how to be a good teacher, a good friend, good with money, all the things. It’s exciting and terrifying all at the same time. #adulting
First things first - know that it’s okay to not know. We’re not supposed to have things perfectly figured out right now. I can’t be the best teacher in the entire world because I’ve barely taught. But I can learn a lot and keep growing where I am.
I still don’t know a lot of things. But what I do know is people help. You can’t do everything on your own.
If you would’ve told me a year ago that I’d be friends with some people I met on the internet, I probably would’ve laughed at you 😂🤷🏻♀️ (most people still don’t really get it ... “yeah, I know her from Instagram..?” ) but that’s okay.
Find your people and cheer for them. They’ll do the same for you. It’s worth the effort. It’s worth the awkward (at first, duh). These people rock and my life is so much better because of them! 💗

I just figured this out 🙄🙄 ...
hi! it’s been a minute. i have an apartment now. woo!! ...
We can talk about meal planning all day long...how to do it, when to do it, why to do it...but in the end, it’s not #mealplanning that saves you money...it’s ACTUALLY EXECUTING that meal plan, eating the food you bought and planned to eat...that’s when you will reap the reward. I know this is common sense, but one question I get asked so often is “how do you stick to your meal plan?” Y’all...I make a choice.
It’s sheer discipline.
It’s a mindset.
It’s the understanding that we do things even when we don’t feel like it because that’s part of being an adult who is capable of doing the work in order to get the reward. “I’m tired” or “I don’t feel like it” is what my child says when they don’t want to clean their room. It’s not what I say when it comes time to prepare the food that I meal planned for. 🤷🏻♀️
If you are struggling with executing your meal plan, I get it. It’s a simple concept, but not easy. Life is busy and we are humans who get tired. But here is what helps me:
• First of all, I’m realistic about my time. I plan simple meals that can be cooked easily, and I include leftovers so that executing the meal plan is not so time consuming. The cookbook I’m writing now and will make available this fall is filled with recipes that meet this criteria, so stay tuned for that.
• Mindset is everything...rather than impulsively acting on cravings and throwing the meal plan out the window because “I don’t feel like it” I choose to practice gratitude for having nourishing food available, no matter what it is.
• I view it as a job that contributes financially to my family, and I take it seriously. Preparing that meal, even when “I am too tired” is a sacrifice that I make for a greater purpose. I’m not a martyr or super human...I’m just an adult with a responsibility.
I hope that this encourages you. The work you do as a #homeeconomist is so valuable. ❤️
Eeep! Today is the day I officially start moving into my new apartment. Feeling so thankful & excited ☺️ Check out my story for a sneak peek of the apartment! ✨💕 ...
[✔️] wash ya ride
Expectation vs. Reality 🤪‼️ (Excuse my messy self & messy house). This may not be as big of a deal to me as to everyone but yoooo I’ve always wanted to be like the hot carwash girls in the movies — except the hot part. It took me long enough to finally find the time to get my car bathed by me, special thanks to my Fil prof for dismissing our class super early LOL. Anw, it was actually satisfying altho tbh it’s all fun & cute until you feel the burnout afterwards (i almost gave up halfway thru & look how small my car is LMAO). Grabe siz, if y’all are lazy to hit the gym you might as well wash your car because shit’s the same (don’t bash me, gym-ers) BUT LEGIT THO I’ve never felt so tapped out in my whole life !! NONETHELESS, IT WAS COOL & I’d definitely do it again 😜💖 heh kshare hashtag simple joys HAHAHAHAHAHA
super grateful for all the love and wishes I received today. ready to begin this next chapter. #adulting#thiscantbereal ...
