Everything in your body and brain works in patterns. Just like in the rest of nature. ⠀

Once a process is strong enough to activate itself, then a pattern starts.⠀
⠀
You could become addicted to negative emotions after experiencing a strong episode of release of a certain neurotransmitter or hormone. Your body and brain will want more of it.⠀
⠀
And even if you haven’t still internalized this, your body knows it: Reality is not outside, it only exists inside. It’s based on your chemistry that you see what you see. ⠀
⠀
Your body and brain can create triggers of perception, to make all of your experiences a potential opportunity to feed them with these emotions that they are craving.⠀
⠀
Changing the influence of a neurotransmitter or hormone for another can help you reprogram your chemistry, and as a consequence, change the way you see the world.⠀
⠀
Force yourself to experience a different emotion when you start noticing this pattern.⠀
⠀
In my book “the Power of the Elevation of Consciousness: Soul Restructuring”, I talk about how tapping on one of the energy centers can break this emotional pattern of perception.⠀

Also visualization of light and breathing is a very powerful tool to stop emotional triggers.⠀
⠀
Please keep in mind that this is not the same as suppressing emotions, this is about reprogramming a chronic pattern of depression or anxiety meant to be used for people dealing with this type of condition.⠀

If you are dealing with a situation that you are putting off, and that’s causing your unwanted emotions, then this will continue to happen regardless because it’s not a perception filter, it’s a fact. However, this exercise will help you discard the possibility of this emotion being just your perception.⠀

It's been a while. I took this picture of hippocampal neurons somewhere in December 2018 and was looking for a good caption. This is a pretty dense culture, meaning a lot of cells grown in a smaller area. Typically these would be used to study synapse formation, i.e. connections between neurons. When we study basic mechanism, like microtubule organization in my case, we also need to think about the big-picture implications of our data. Things like, what contribution does my protein of interest have in overall neuronal function? Some of you know that in the new year, I began offering our Holistic Metabolic Reset Program to help people lose weight. ⁣

Around the new year there is a lot of pressure around goals, resolutions, and weight loss. And it can be a little gross, right?⁣
.⁣
And this year I saw this thing happening where in response there was a lot of anti-weight loss posts. And I don't think that was very helpful either.⁣

For a moment it made me feel ashamed of what I was offering and of my own weight loss journey (which I will be sharing with you guys over the next 4-6 weeks!).⁣

But I got over it, because serving a need in my community and staying true to my own health goals as a leader is EVERYTHING to me.⁣

So when we talk about weight loss, how about this...⁣

✨Can we please support each other in health and love no matter what our size?⁣

✨Can we please support each other in our health goals whether that includes weight loss or not?⁣

✨Can we please love ourselves enough to know that if someone else wants to lose weight or is talking about weight loss that doesn't reflect on us?⁣

✨Can we please throw out all the crap about how we are supposed to look and simply focus on what makes us feel best in our body?⁣

🌿Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) is one of my favorite herbs. It's a purple flower with a bitter taste that tonifies and calms the nervous system.⁣

🌿Chamomile and lavender are my favorite tea combination and both have a calming effect. Chamomile is specific for digestive irritation, anxiety, and irritability. A great herb for IBS, because many people experience IBS and anxiety (Hello, gut brain connection!).⁣

🌿Kava has a more sedating and muscle relaxation effect. It works very well, but will slow you down during the day so is best used at bedtime. If you're feeling anxious and you have a stiff neck or muscle tension - this is a great herb.⁣

4. Most of these people were from the UK
5. No vaccine or treatment is available

Now you may have said “MAD COW DISESASE!” 🐮 to which you would be on the right track but not fully correct. As mad cow was what the cows had to spread this disease to humans when they consumed their meat. Humans contract VARIANT CREUTZFELDT-JAKOB DISEASE (KROITS-felt YAH-kob) or vCJD.

When humans eat meat from cows that are infected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) agent or “mad cow disease”, the prions (misshapen proteins) cross the wall of the gut, replicate and eventually spread through the blood stream to their target- the brain 🤯The prions then attack the brain, killing cells and creating sponge-like patches and gaps in the tissue.

vCJD is a degenerative brain disorder that leads to dementia and, ultimately, death. Patients usually die within 18 months of the onset of the disease.

vCJD is not passed from person to person. However, it can be passed from someone with vCJD to others through blood transfusions, though this is extremely rare. Three cases of vCJD in the UK are reported to have occurred through receipt of a blood transfusion derived from an asymptomatic, but infected donor. It is because of this disease that the Australian Blood Service can’t take blood donations from people who lived in the UK for six months or more from 1980–1996 due to the risk of infection from vCJD. vCJD can incubate in someone for decades before they start to show symptoms..
