As we walked around this magical place, I pulled my buddy aside and told him the story of Walt Disney.
In 1927, Walt was hired by Universal to create a cartoon character; the result being Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Oswald was a hit and a huge revenue stream. With this success under his belt and feeling on top of the world, Disney traveled to New York a year later to renegotiate his contract. But unbeknownst to him, his producer had been working backdoor deals to hire Disney’s animators out from under him and ended their relationship right then and there. Universal had the rights to Oswald, and Disney left New York feeling as if he had lost it all.
On a train ride back to California Disney sketched a character that would change everything, Mickey Mouse.
Walt later said in an interview, “the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me.”
Because he continued on with his dream and never gave up, Disneyland was later created. But his success was not entirely based on vision. He carried out his dream by being an exceptional leader as well. It took communication, boldness, perseverance and a humble heart to make it all work.
But most importantly, Walt Disney measured every distance in hot dogs. All trash cans at Disney World were planted precisely 25 steps away from them. So don’t forget that either when you decide to change the world.😉 .
how I feel about this unexpected & extremely welcome cool weather. give me sixty degree weather all day every day & I’ll be a happy duck! 😆🦆
I got this tee over a year ago bc I love when the Disney characters get grumpy lol. then I got this headband last summer. tell me why this is the first time I actually paired them together?? 😐🤦🏻♀️ maybe Donald is looking up at me annoyed at how stoopid I am lol. I can’t say I disagree, sir.
