Shout out to my favorite nurse for taking a break from her card game to snap a couple pics with me! 😆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know I’m behind on the #senatormaureenwalsh controversy but that’s mostly because I’m still in shock that any adult in the workforce would make such an ignorant and reckless statement. 😠 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All of us in the healthcare community know the burden on our incredible nurses who are often overworked, understaffed, and underpaid. Don’t let non-healthcare workers be under the impression that nurses misuse work time. Support nurse strikes for better working conditions. ✊🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Nurses keep us safe. They catch mistakes. They advocate for patients in a way providers can’t. Don’t ever be a #maureenwalsh and underestimate them! 💕 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of places, if one only remembers to turn on the light!” 💡.
“Being happy” doesn’t come easy for some. It takes effort and sometimes extra measures to be the “happy” that the world has come to expect..
In the field I will be working in I will see people everyday coming in fighting with the unrealistic expectations of the world that make them feel less than and unworthy..
I will tell you what I tell them - these thoughts are simply that - just thoughts and nothing else! Set your own expectations and make goals to meet those and work on ignoring what society has to say!.
Meeting small goals will bring you closer to that “happy” you want to be! I work on becoming that happy person each day by accomplishing my small goals! Small goals they eventually add up!.
My daily checklist creates joy in my heart because with each check mark I am better than before ✅ 🤗.

“Flipping the Card,” my name is Amy and I am practicing bad ass nurse👩🏻⚕️. @nurseabnormalities
1. Credentials/title: Registered Nurse; Infusion Nurse; Family Nurse Practitioner student.
2. Area of Practice: Outpatient Oncology Hematology
3. 3 unique aspects of my job: consent and educate patients on upcoming therapy, administer both research and traditional chemotherapy and biotherapies in varying phases, manage hypersensitive and anaphylactic reactions.
My job entails so much more: I am the gatekeeper to their care and review bloodwork, blood counts, kidney, liver, GI, neurological, immunological, reproductive-functions concurrent with therapy. I also assess and monitor for adverse side effects and treat according to what I discuss with my providers, that includes XRT treatment. The hardest part of my job is learning to be there emotionally when the illness has ran its course.
This is a movement to bring awareness and appreciation for my fellow nurses and healthcare providers. So much love to you all from Texas!
Soapbox time!! You’ve been warned...
❌This is unacceptable!!!!❌
I have amazing nurses that are friends and family and I have watched them first-hand. They rarely get a lunch. They barely have time to use the bathroom. They pour their heart and soul into caring for their patients and I’ve seen them cry when they feel like they can’t do enough. .
Nurses are hard-working, caring, and generous souls. They deserve our respect and admiration, not thoughtless insults. .
Before you open your mouth and speak 🗣 about someone else’s job (ANY JOB!!), just DON’T! ❌ .
Your thoughts about someone’s else’s job need to be kept to yourself. Unless you have personally done that job, keep your thoughts to yourself. And even if you have, just don’t. If you think someone else’s job is so dang easy, go do it yourself!! Everyone deserves respect! Period! #endrant#nursesrock#bekind#respect ...
