We were so stoked to have had the chance to run workshops at the Food for Thought Fest outside in the sunshine today☀️ Our goal was to help show people that eating vegan can be cheap and accessible- if you do it right! Here are a couple of our tips for eating the rainbow on a budget🌈 🌿 1)Buy in bulk! Getting larger quantities of food will help you save money in the long run! Places like Bulk Barn are great for this and they let you bring your own jars.
2) Eat frozen instead of fresh! Frozen fruits and veggies have the same amount of nutrients as fresh produce and they last a lot longer in the freezer
3) Stock up on canned foods! Legumes like black beans, chickpeas and pinto beans are a cheap and wonderful sources of protein.
4) Meal prep and cook at home! Making large batches of dishes like chilli and curries can help get you through the week and prevent you from ordering food online or eating out.
