Comme expliqué dans un post précédent (cfr le mensonge), le mensonge déstabilise nos bases, brise notre confiance en soi et en les autres.

Cela crée des discordances entre nos valeurs, entre la personne que nous voulons être et entre celle que nous sommes réellement, nous ne sommes plus cohérent pour finir on se perd soi même.

Etre en accord avec soi même permet de mieux se comprendre, mieux assumer ses choix, respecter ses valeurs, son éthique et ses croyances, oser dire non sans culpabiliser, sans devoir se justifier. Etre en accord avec soi même permettra de laisser s'exprimer la vraie personne au fond de soi sans craintes aucunes.

Today is International Day of Happiness. As a Psycholgist, happiness (or lack of happiness) is often an underlying theme of a therapeutic conversation. ⠀
⠀
But what does happiness really mean? ⠀
⠀
Last year, Finland scored top of the world for happiness, according to the World Happiness Report 2018, closely followed by other countries which are safe and socially progressive with very little corruption and a culture of reasonable trust in their police and politicians. ⠀
⠀
Research also stated that we are all born with different ‘happiness set-points’. ⠀
⠀
But regardless of your happiness set-point or how happy your fellow citizens are, happiness is still subjective and notoriously difficult to quantify. ⠀
⠀
Is it a feeling? A state of mind? A disposition or attitude? And should we really buy into ideas revolving around the pursuit of happiness? ⠀
⠀
According to research, actively pursuing happiness does not actually lead to happiness and it may even make you feel less happy! ⠀
⠀
It’s healthier to acknowledge that there is a 🌈 whole spectrum of emotions from unpleasant 🥺 (lonely, fearful, hopeless) to extremely pleasant 😃 (like happiness!) Around the middle of the spectrum we could put feelings of well-being, satisfaction, gratefulness, peace, safety. ⠀
⠀
👉 In other words, rather than try and be happy, it’s healthier to notice when you’re feeling happy, but realise that this is above the emotional midline and it’s not going to be a constant emotional state. ⠀

Having said this, shortcuts to increasing the % of positive emotions in your life include the basics: 🌟 making more of the present moment 🌟 knowing yourself 🌟 connecting with others in your family, friendship group and community 🌟 drawing your attention to what’s going well (ie gratitude) 🌟 actively living your life by making plans for the future 🌟 extending simple acts of kindness towards others 🌟 keeping your system balanced by prioritising the things that nourish you 🌟 trying new things all the time 🌟 cultivating self-acceptance..
