Yellow Belly/@buxtonbrewery /Imperial Stout 11%
So this bottle is actually the 2018 version. Bought this last year and decided to save it to share on our wedding day.
With the big day crazy hectic, we somehow never got round to drinking it.
Then planned to drink it at christmas, but after the xmas impy haul got out of hand, it still got missed.
So a year after planning to drink it, it just had to be cracked open on our first wedding anniversary.
Have had Yellow Belly a couple of times on tap at The Buxton Tap House. Although your not supposed to age adjunct stouts, this has not a lost a thing!
Aroma is nuts, nuts and more nuts with a touch of chocolate
Its thick, rich and velvety smooth.
Taste is chocolate, biscuit and peanut butter with a boozy undertone.
Aftertaste is sweet and bitter chocolate followed by a slight nutiness.
Although I have had a fair few impys since first trying this last year, this still tops the pile for me.
It's a big old 5/5 on untappd from me.
If you somehow haven't tried Yellow Belly, buy it while you still can. Huge shame its no longer going to be brewed.
Hey reptile-fam! Meet Igor 😍
We went a little crazy last week with 6 new additions to our Ball Python breeding project. We have some crazy plans for this beautiful little guy who’s a Enchi Ivory (Super Yellow belly).
